Excellent book! I have quite a few books in my essential oil, natural and crunchy beauty library. This is by far, the most comprehensive book of them all. The book goes into detail, for every aspect of the body; from the hair to the toes. She covers herbs, oils, butters and essential oils, so you understand what each item is good for. She covers everything you could possibly need to make for your body. From hair products; masks, vinegar rinses, cleansers and conditioners. To the face; cleansers, scrubs, masks, oils and moisturizers. Herbal infusions, and salves. Foot scrubs, soaks, butters and lotions. You name it, this book covers it. A must purchase if you like to make your own beauty products.

Love this book. While the recipes were a bit more involved than I was looking for, the overview of ingredients is perfect! Shannon did a really nice job with tabled to compare possible ingredients. This is a book that I keep going back to again and again to review ingredients. Thank you for the great information!

I purchased this book because I wanted to learn more about creating my own homemade beauty products. I am glad I did. It is filled with tons of valuable information and recipes for everything from head to toe. I believe this was listed as one of the recommended books on the Mountain Rose Herbs website (although I could be mixing this up with a different source). Regardless, this is definitely a worthwhile purchase. I have referenced it multiple times both for gathering recipes and for learning about different tips such as what base butters work best for different skin needs, etc.

This book has some great recipients in it. As someone who has been making my own beauty products from scratch for many years now I felt the need to buy a book like this to get some new ideas. I like that this book is broken down into section like hair, face, etc. because it helps me to find things easier.

Wow! This book is chock full of information. There was definitely a lot of research that went into this book. And yet, with all the info, it is so visually appealing. It is divided up in such a logical way that it is easy to use as a reference. It would also be good as a book for deeper study and research. Well done, Shannon Buck. I will be checking out more of what you have available.

I found this book useful and helpful in making my own formulations for lotions and cremes. The section on healing salves widened my method to make better formulated salves. I would recommend this book to anyone who would want to make their own handmade creams, salves, and lotions.All the formulations are for small batches. What it does NOT cover is making these for selling to others...in that you are not taught about how to keep the formulation from becoming moldy.

This book was Fantastic and informative. Great instructions with in-depth explanations . Many projects to choose from, something for everyone. I also loved the introduction to Herbs and how to incorporate them into bath salts and lotions . I will definitely use this for referencing the Top ,Middle and Base Notes , when blending my Essential Oils . Well worth the money😄

I really enjoyed reading this book! It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or more advance when making home made products. There is something for everyone in it. I made enough notes and highlights so I can make a quick reference to the material when I need to. Pictures are great as well!

Easy to follow for a novice like me. As many have said, it's hard to get a clear understanding of the pictures because they are black and white. I understand publishing costs of color but I'd pay a few bucks more fore the color pics. Or, better yet, offer a website link that holds the color pics.

This book contains a complete step by step walk through of the steps needed to take even a novice grower from spore to harvest. Advanced techniques are also explained clearly, with plenty of pictures as well. It is a quick read, easily completed in a day as there are numerous full pages devoted to picture instruction.Subtracted one star because all of the information can be found online for free, and I did not learn anything new. However, for the person who would rather have a book in hand, this is a great one to get as it is more geared to the novice than most that I have read.

Probably the best book on the subject AND it's the ONLY book Paul Stamets himself recommends in his EPIC book, 'The Mushroom Cultivator - A Practical Guide to Growing Mushrooms at Home'! Paul Stamets is THE KING of Mushrooms and ANY recommendation by him should be paid close attention to!

This book is well organized and easy to follow. It feels a bit like a recipe book with a method and pictures for every step. Follow the instructions in this book and you'll be growing tons of mushrooms in no time!

About the Author
Sunil Yapa holds a bachelor's degree in economic geography from Penn State University and an MFA from Hunter College. The biracial son of a Sri Lankan father and mother from Montana, Yapa has lived around the world, including time in Greece, Guatemala, Chile, Argentina, China, and India, as well as London, Montreal, and New York City.
